[Wherever Thida is, she can expect a Charizard will find her soon--carrying a package addressed to her. It contains chocolates in the shape of Inkay for her and berry tarts made especially for her Pokemon
Thida even takes Yuto out of the PC for a little while to share all these treats, but even as she's got one of the chocolate Inkays in her mouth, she's quick to write out a letter in response, the handwriting a little amateurish but comprehensible:]
Thank you very very very very very very very very very very very very much Botan We all love the treats a lot
- Thida
[At the bottom, there are crude caricatures of her Pokemon's happy faces, and a joyous doodle of a squid, all of them surrounded by little hearts. She doesn't know what else to send Botan in return, so this will have to do for now.]
Remember when I told you about Chinchous? One ended up in our campsite.
[The included picture is of a small, bossy looking Chinchou clearly scolding Shepard (Noct's Lycanroc) and Carbuncle (his shiny Eevee). Neither seem all that bothered by the scolding but the Chinchou is clearly not pleased with them.]
[Hopefully she was. And she was safe. Noctis had been a little worried about her considering how determined she had seemed when they talked about checking out other warehouses.
He was sure she was more than capable of handling herself but..well. Team Rocket didn't seem to like playing nice now did they?]
[Thida's response (unlike mine) is pretty quick. Looks like she's on the roof of the department store with a bottle of fresh water. She looks none the worse for wear, but maybe a little tired. Girl just finished her delivery shift, after all.]
I was just calling to check on you. I wasn't sure if you were still looking for warehouses or not.
[Behind Noct comes Bean who gently pushes her trainer out of the way so she can see Thida as well. The Snorlax eyes her before rumbling in a worried, motherly manner.
[Thida smiles softly and chuckles at Bean, nodding. The intent of the rumble comes through to her.]
'M okay. Went t'look...not a lot left.
[The Pokemon had pretty much vacated the area, and aside from the yellow caution tape there wasn't much left of a police presence. It was mostly ruins, and precarious ones to climb at that.]
[ Annie hits Goldenrod at a jog once she's outside the Pokemon Center, Arlert clinging to Lute's back and making sad noises for having been in her ball for Annie's use of the warp pads. She didn't seem to recall she handled the transition poorly the first two times she insisted on it.
Regardless, she makes it to the meeting point with her much more hiker style backpack, her first big purchase, and her pokemon in tow. She's on the lookout for Thida, only now, on the day of, wondering about the truth of bright coloured hair.
There are so many senseless things about this world, the only thing more complicated is the senselessness of the countless other dimensions people came from.
Still, when she thinks she's sighted her, Annie lifts a hand to wave at about shoulder height, calling out: ]
Thida?
[ Lute the Absol perks up from where he's sitting; Arlert the Hoothoot finishes preening one wing in order to lean around Annie and stare at Thida, hoping this meant another opportunity for delicious treats. ]
[The blue hair is very real - though it's much more of a sky blue than anything else, long and up in twintails as if there wasn't any other style worth bothering with. Thida has been quiet, sitting on a bench while looking through her 'gear, her Malamar standing behind the bench and peering over her shoulder. Both look up at the sound of Thida's name, and she stows her 'gear away and hops off the bench.
She's...a lot shorter than Annie might have expected for a teenager. Hands stuffed in pockets, she hurries over, trailed by her large squid Pokemon, and looks at Annie with wide eyes.]
[ Annie isn't tall enough to have much comment on it, though Thida is... short. For once, she can even feel like she isn't, which is bizarre enough for a few seconds before she shakes it off. ]
Yes, I'm Annie.
[ She holds out her hand for shaking, mostly on reflex. Lute stands and shakes himself off, coming forward to make a low greeting to Thida's pokemon companion. Arlert calls out too, perpetually hopeful. She's "off" duty for now, and that means looking for food and attention. ]
[Spending time in Goldenrod with Thida had been a blast and honestly? It had been exactly what Noctis had needed. Since coming back to the Pokemon world he hadn't really found his bearings yet but this? It was helping. A lot.
The Christmas Market and just hanging out with his little sister had helped him settle back in and feel less like he was on the outside looking in; like he was going to be ripped away at any second again.
By the time Christmas rolled around? He was so at ease that he was actually up at the crack of dawn and encouraging Cara the Riolu and Sprout the Eevee to go wake Thida up.
Beware the bombardment, Thida! You've got two small fluffs jumping up onto your bed squeaking and chirping!
[Surprisingly, for such a young lady, it takes a while for even Thida to wake up on Christmas. She groans a little as the Riolu and Eevee leap upon her, but at least Poko the Tepig, who's taken to curling up with his trainer in bed during the winter, wakes right up and...joins in on the fun.
Oops.
She'll trundle on downstairs behind the three excited Pokemon, hair down and wild in a big mess, her flannel pajamas rumpled and a hoodie haphazardly thrown on over it. She's got slippers on that scuff the floor as she walks and blinks blearily.]
Noctis...?
[Is that you? She squints, tilting her head. Still tired, this one.]
[Cara and Sprout are delighted when Poko join in and even more delighted when Thida finally gets up.
PRESENTS!!!
The prince in question is already settled on the floor, wrapped up in a hoodie of his own--the Gyarados one he'd worn on Halloween because of course he's going to wear it year round--with a mug of hot cocoa on the ground beside him. Quay the Primarina twills merrily from where she's resting near him, waving at the lively crew as Cara and Sprout be line for the small pile of presents while Noct looks up at Thida and grins.]
So on Christmas there will be a gift for Thida that finds its way to her. It's wrapped and there's a card on the top. It reads Merry Christmas and there's a drawing of a Snover dressed as Santa Claus putting out presents next to a tree.
Inside is some candy for humans to eat, some treats for pokemon and also a stuffed Inkay plush.
[Thida loves ALL of this. She is delighted (and so are her Pokemon, who greatly appreciate the treats), and Newt will find a gift sent her way from Thida. Inside is the following:
- A set of waterproof gloves in Newt's size, five-fingered to allow for better use of one's hands and guaranteed not to get soaked through when making things with snow
- A whole bag of dried fruits, safe for humans to eat, and a separate bag of PokeBlocks for Pokemon to snack on, all in different colors
- A matching bracelet-collar set for Newt and Ripley to wear; both are woven strips of brown pleather with shimmery, red-orange beads laced through them. Both are adjustable so they're not too tight.]
[Thida receives these gifts and cries. A lot. Because she remembers talking to Krieg about wishing for new blue boots and he remembered and got her even more than she needed.
The black Charizard is sent back with a package containing the following:
- A nice, roomy sweater with Santa Claus riding a Tytantrum breathing fire on it, because it's badass like Krieg
- A very careful drawing of Krieg as an Inkling, including some appropriatelyfreshgear with a Splatling gun in one arm and a Splash-o-matic in the other, absolutely dominating the battle. There's an Inksplosion in the background. It's childish and yet very neat, and has a lot of heart.
And there's also a note with "THANK YOU KRIEG, MERRY SQUIDMAS - THIDA ♥ くコ彡" on it, folded and placed at the bottom of the package.]
Seriously perhaps Mabel can hear Thida's yell of surprise and delight over the sweater which is definitely hung up to be worn on New Year's Eve because it is magnificent
But also, Mabel? There's a package waiting for you when the Pidgey returns, and inside is a hastily scribbled "THANK YOU - THIDA" and a few skeins of splatter-dyed yarn for dynamic and interesting color schemes for future knitting.]
[Delivery, morning of 2/14]
"Happy Valentine's Day, Thida!
--Botan"]
[Response, noonish of 2/14]
WHOA WOW WHOA
THIS IS AMAZING
